WELCOME TO JEFF HOFFMAN VOCAL COACH
Coaching With Care

ABOUT ME
Passion For Coaching
My professional career started way back in 1976 when I worked for several regional theaters as a musical director, actor, pianist, and director. I later worked the variety circuit for eight years playing all around the country and cruise lines as an MD/pianist/arranger, sharing the stage with performers like Joe Piscopo, Phyllis Diller, David Brenner, Red Buttons, and Rip Taylor. I have continued to work in the theater and this January I will be starting my 42nd year as a professional Musical Director. I am very proud of my 13 year relationship with the Gateway Playhouse serving as MD. I have a Masters degree in Music Education and also have been teaching for the past 23 years.

PRIVATE VOCAL COACHINGS
As a well renowned New York area Musical Director/Vocal Coach since 1976, I’ve provided the tools and guidance needed to help all of my students excel. My students have gone on to perform with many Regional Theaters, National Tours, and Broadway shows! I've also helped many students get accepted to many wonderful college theatre and musical theatre programs. As an experienced and passionate Vocal Coach, I believe in an approach that gives students positive, constructive ways to learn. I design my sessions according to my students’ needs, with an emphasis on confidence-boosting activities. Take advantage of the vast professional experience I bring. Get in touch today to find out more and to reserve your coaching today.

SONG PRACTICE TRACKS
I know how difficult it can be to find a coach that has experience as a Musical Director, Director, and Performer. I have had years of experience on the stage as well, so I know first hand what you are going through as a performer. I am not just a "piano player" who has no similar experiences as their clients. My musical directing skills include a broad knowledge of traditional and contemporary repertoire. I will be able to record your melody line as well as the full accompaniment of the songs in your book as well as provide comprehensive warm up exercises.

MUSIC TRANSPOSITIONS AND EDITING
Through my work as a professional arranger, I have been fortunate enough to learn to work with Finale. This allows me to edit student's music as well as alter keys, when necessary.

“There is no doubt in my mind that I would not have gotten into college were it not for Jeff Hoffman. End. When decided I wanted to major in musical college, we switched from studying piano to coaching my audition material. He really helped me to bring out the character in my songs and find the music in the words of my monologues. I got into almost all of the schools I auditioned for and ultimately graduated from the University of Miami with a BM in Musical Theater. Further, mere years after he coached me on our high school's production of Sweeney Todd, I played the same role in the national touring cast; I don't think that's incidental. His passion is contagious and I have been hard-pressed to find better music directors working in the business.theater

I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Hoffman for the past 22 years having him as my music teacher, vocal coach, coach, director, and very dear friend. It is because of Mr. Hoffman that I was encouraged to go into the field as a musical theatre performer and have been working successfully as a performer all over the world. Mr. Hoffman has a very gentle approach to coaching, however, he's always honest and direct. He truly has the heart to make all his students the best performers they can be and you can see this in his commitment to always being on call if you need a quick lesson, sheet music or even just advice on how to approach a song. I have nothing but praises for Mr. Hoffman and anyone who gets the opportunity to work with him just once will be hooked! Thank you, Mr. Hoffman, for your constant support and wisdom."

Jeff Hoffman is a rare gem in the musical theatre world. Not only is he a marvelous pianist, he also has a keen eye for coaching repertoire and a good ear for finding material for his pupils. But what truly sets him apart is his mentorship. Jeff will *always* be there for you during the highs and lows that come with the life of a performer.

In a world of “what’s in it for me”, you will find a rare commodity in Jeff Hoffman. With his coaching, I was accepted into all of the colleges that I auditioned for and am prepared for a future in performance. More importantly, I found a mentor. With his terrific sense of humor, coupled with his genuine kind demeanor, he brings out the best in whoever he works with. Jeff Hoffman is an invaluable resource for all things concerning musical theatre, but what makes him stand out above all others, is his dedication to his students and clients, and his willingness and ability to do anything to support them.

Jeff Hoffman is one of the most amazing musical directors I have ever worked with! It always feels like a true partnership - working together to find the musical nuances and storytelling aspects of the score. Jeff loves an open conversation about the music being worked on so both parties are always on the same path. When I was on stage, I always felt like Jeff was really listening to me so we were breathing together and working towards the best sound we could get. I would work with Jeff again in a heartbeat!!
